Chinese herbal medicine may have a positive effect on primary Raynaud's phenomenon (PRP), conclude Chinese systematic review authors. Eight RCTs involving 674 participants were included in their analysis. Meta-analysis showed that Buyang Huanwu Tang and Dang Gui Si Ni Tang produced greater improvement in global symptoms than the drug nifedipine. One trial showed that Jie Jing Tong Mi Tang produced greater improvement in symptoms, as well as plasma endothelin and nitric oxide levels, compared with cinepazide maleate injection.
