Acupuncture reduces migraine symptoms and improves quality of life, concludes a Chinese systematic review. Meta-analysis of data from 49 studies with a total of 4,441 participants revealed that acupuncture had a better treatment effect for migraine than no treatment, waiting list control, or routine care, compared with placebo acupuncture. Acupuncture was also more effective for migraine than pharmacotherapies, with a lower risk of adverse events.
