Chinese medicine seems to be effective and safe in the treatment of cancer-related fatigue, report authors of a systematic review from China. Meta-analysis of pooled data from 23 trials (1832 participants) of Chinese herbal medicine and acupuncture/moxibustion revealed significant differences between experimental and control groups. Fatigue levels were significantly better in traditional Chinese medicine groups versus control groups. Eleven trials demonstrated that traditional Chinese medical therapy improved quality of life for cancer patients. No significant adverse effects occurred in traditional Chinese medical therapy groups.
