Speaker(s): Andrew Nugent-Head lived in China for 28 years, where he studied martial arts, medicine and internal cultivation in traditional Mentor-Disciple relationships. As the founder and president of the Association for Traditional Studies (ATS), he now dedicates himself to preserving, documenting and disseminating traditional knowledge as well as to bringing the benefit of the full strength of Chinese Medicine to the many patients at his teaching clinic in Asheville, USA. Conny and Zarig are senior students of Andrew. They both attended his seminar series in London between 2012 and 2016 and have since been on yearly study trips to the Alternative Clinic in Asheville, USA, to observe the taught material being used in clinical practice. In 2018, they joined Andrew’s teaching team and started assisting at his European seminars. They both teach CPD courses in London and are dedicated to sharing ATS’s teachings of tangible, effective clinical skills with acupuncturists in the UK.

Ma Danyang's 12 Heavenly Star points have been passed down through history as a set of highly effective points, each producing an effect “like hot water poured upon snow”. On this day we will be exploring why that is and will be practising needle techniques to unlock their full potential.
Being able to purposefully manipulate the Qi at the Ma Danyang points gives us as practitioners a way of achieving very tangible results. This is visible during the session as we guide the patient’s Qi into a better pattern, and usually creates a long-lasting health shift which has obviously come from our treatment.
