This systematic review and meta-analysis compared the clinical efficacy and safety of sinomenine (an extract of Qing Feng Teng [Sinomenii Caulis]) with methotrexate for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). A total of 16 eligible studies with 1500 RA patients were included. Compared to methotrexate, sinomenine had better clinical efficacy and relatively fewer adverse events. [Oct 16]
