Acupuncture effective postprandial distress
Acupuncture is an effective therapeutic strategy for postprandial distress syndrome, concludes a systematic review by Chinese authors. Five studies involving 1253 participants were included in their analysis. After four weeks of treatment, acupuncture showed a significant benefit in terms of total therapeutic effect, dyspepsia index scores, postprandial satiety scores and early satiety scores. Dyspepsia index scores remained significantly better after 16 weeks of acupuncture.
