Electrical acupoint stimulation improves IVF outcomes
Transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation (TEAS) can improve pregnancy outcomes in women undergoing in vitro fertilisation-embryo transfer (IVF-ET). Chinese authors subjected data from 19 randomised-controlled trials involving 5330 participants to systematic review and meta-analysis. The results of meta-analyses showed that, compared with controls, TEAS can improve clinical pregnancy rates, high-quality embryo rates and biochemical pregnancy rates of women undergoing IVF-ET (all with low quality evidence), and improve live birth rates (with moderate quality evidence).
